Colin Brits Murder
Colin Leslie Brits (64), who was a bachelor and lived alone on Craigmillar Farm in Elandskraal, Kwazulu Natal was found in his home with a gunshot wound to the head on Monday the 16th of March 2020.
Colin allegedly returned from town at around 14:00 and was informed by his staff that some of his cattle were missing. He then took two of his staff to the grazing area to look for the cattle and returned home.
Two other staff were working at the fence a mere 300 meters from the house and the housekeeper was also on the farm.
Colin seemed to have been ambushed while he was having a cup of coffee, and a struggle ensued. He put up a fight as his hands were bruised.
Nearby, staff heard gunshots and went to investigate. At first, they did not find anything but a short while later found his body and raised the alarm at 16:00.
It is unknown how many suspects are involved as none were seen at any stage. Only a rifle and handgun were stolen.
