Home Assist for power supply interruption

We recently received an activation from a Home Assist member via our Monitor Administrators corporate client in the Gauteng area, who reported that his power supply had not returned after load shedding had ended in his area. He suspected that the fault may have been caused by his UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system and requested that a service provider be sent to investigate.

We immediately dispatched a nearby approved service provider using our Proximity Dispatching System (PDS) who on arrival was able to bypass the UPS and the electricity supply was returned to the home. It was determined that the batteries in the UPS had been damaged and these would be replaced on approval of the homeowner. Our member was pleased with the service provided as he’d been without electricity since the previous day. This prompt attention from the service provider also prevented the loss of frozen food kept at the home.
