Karen Turner Murder

The attack happened at approximately 3 a.m. (or slightly earlier) on 17 September 2019.

In the incident, Karen Turner (31) who was pregnant, was murdered, and her husband Matthew Turner (33) was seriously wounded.

According to Matthew there were two suspects who surprised them while they were sleeping. One attacker was on his side of the bed and the second attacker was on Karen’s side.

Matthew says that he managed to fight with the attacker that was on his side of the bed, and the struggle seemingly moved down the stairs. At some point during the skirmish Matthew lost consciousness.

Matthew was taken to hospital in Mthatha, Eastern Cape and was subsequently flown to Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal where he underwent surgery and received further treatment.

According to Ian Crouch (Karen’s brother) there was a lot of blood on the scene and you could see that the incident started on the top floor.

At this point, every other bit of detail is pure speculation and cannot be confirmed.

The SAPS investigation team and Provincial Communications dealing with this case will update in due course. Investigations are continuing.
