Koos Botha Murder

Koos Botha (63) was murdered on the 15th June 2020. His body was discovered in the kitchen of his home by employees of his who reported the discovery to SAPS. Koos was found with his hands and feet bound by brown tape and a cell phone charging cord. His vehicle, some personal items and three Firearms were taken by the suspects.

The body of Koos Botha has been discovered by some of his employees who have reported this to SAPS. Koos was found in the kitchen of his home with his hands and feet bound by brown tape and a cell phone charging cord. The cause of death is unknown at this time. His vehicle is missing, and 3 Firearms were also taken by the suspects. It appears as if Koos was murdered on Monday night already.

Koos’ vehicle has been found abandoned on or close to the N2 highway near Mkhuze. The vehicle will be processed by LCRC (Crime Scene Laboratories, Criminal Records and Crime Scene Management) for forensic evidence.

Arrest: Suspect has been apprehended

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder. The suspect was found with a kit bag full of items belonging to the deceased. The bag contained the safe keys from Koos’ house and a few pairs of shoes. He is currently being detained and will appear in court soon.

The suspect appeared in court this morning facing a charge of murder. The case has been postponed until the 21s August 2020 for further investigation and the accused will remain in custody during this time.

Arrest: Another two suspect has been arrested

From first arrest till second and third arrests

Another two suspect have been arrested in connection with Koos’ murder. The circumstances of the arrests are still unknown but it is confirmed that 1 of the weapons that was stolen from Koos’ safe was also recovered.

2 Suspects appear in court

The 2 suspects that were arrested yesterday have appeared in court facing the same charge of murder as accused number 1. The case has been postponed for further investigation and presumably all 3 accused will appear together in court on the 21st August 2020.
