Specialised Victim Support (SVS): Generation 11.2

The next step in our journey came as a result of a team decision taken under the guidance of the Hawks and National SAPS for the development of a dedicated platform and activation process for Specialised Victim Support (SVS) in high priority crimes.

The SVS platform takes into account the various crucial needs when dealing with the process of priority crimes and is designed to support the complete lifespan of a priority case from the time of the incident until finalisation of the case, including the initial 72-hour response plan, operational support, victim support and communications. It tracks and supports all role-players from the time of the incident to the integration of the perpetrator back into society – a period generally spanning some 25 to 30 years.

The most advanced technology in the world is the human connection. It is also one of the hardest technologies to harness, and it is this core technology that makes SVS so unique, like the heartbeat that can be felt symbolising life, so we aim to share information across our national and international borders to bring unity, support and awareness.
