Testimonial – Moving a frail person.
“I just wanted to send you this e-mail to express my gratitude for the help that you and your team provided me in our hour of need. Getting my mom who had a fracture due to osteoporosis to hospital was further complicated by the damage to my sliding gate which resulted in the gate not opening at all.
The biggest challenge I was facing was to move a frail person over the gate without inflicting further injury. I remember on Sunday night thinking I’m going to speak to Lee-Anne regarding the arrangement that we have at work in the event of emergencies. The logistics of getting my mom to the haematologist for her appointment yesterday kept me awake on Sunday as I was wondering what I would do if you guys couldn’t help me.
I needn’t have worried because the minute I spoke to you; I felt a huge load being lifted from my shoulders. You took charge of the situation and in no time, I had Angel (SA31) contact me with the plan of action. She followed up every step of the way for the whole day, including checking up on me this morning to see if everything went okay and to check how mom is. She truly was an angel to us and we’re grateful for the help and the care.
The Netcare911 team were amazing and professional in every way – it felt like they were part of the family and were genuinely concerned. We had to deal with many hurdles, starting with Crompton refusing to admit her, being shipped to RK Khan where we spent the whole night only for her not to be admitted. We went full circle after the Haematologist intervened and told Crompton to admit her which is where she is now.
Walking this journey with the Netcare911 team from Saturday to yesterday was amazing. I know that whilst I initially thought I was being dramatic for wanting to call the paramedics to take her to hospital and back home, I am now convinced that that is what saved her life.
