Unwitting buyer of a stolen vehicle

Uvongo, KZN: On a Sunday afternoon, a vehicle alerted on the SNIPR™ Automatic Number Plate Recognition System in the Uvongo area. The vehicle was checked and found to be positive (stolen) on the SAPS system. The vehicle was stopped and on questioning the driver it was found that it had been sold to him a few weeks prior, making him the unwitting buyer of a stolen vehicle. SAPS are investigating the case.
