Member requesting urgent help in finding missing girl

Dispatcher Files

During my recent night shift I received a AAA Response activation from a member requesting urgent help in finding her friend’s daughter. I contacted the number on the missing person’s alert and spoke to the contact person.

The girl had been missing since 1 p.m. that day and she had heard nothing from her since her last call earlier in the day.

Fortunately I was able to contact her brother who explained that she had contacted him and they were busy fetching her. He explained that she had gone out with some of her friends and they had been drinking.

SAFETY FIRST

Please be aware of where your children are during this lockdown time. Not all pupils have gone back to school and should be doing school work online during normal school hours. It is also important to note the various lockdown regulations that have been put into place under the disaster management act.

Always know where your children are, who they are with and where they are going, and be comfortable with arrangements made. It’s better to be over-cautious and sure of what’s happening than to be dealing with any unfortunate situation that may occur later on.
