Female patient possibly overdosed

During the end of a recent day shift, we received a message from one of our own saying that he needed assistance. He had received an alert of a female patient that had possibly overdosed. Netcare was dispatched swiftly to get advanced life support to the patient so she would have a chance.

I contacted the Warrant Officer on scene and he explained that an hour and a half had passed since the patient had ingested the medication. Netcare was on scene promptly, and the patient was stabilised and transported to the nearest Hospital. We will continue to follow up with the patient daily but thankfully this time help arrived in time to save a life.
