Cyberbullying, also known as online bullying, is the same as face-to-face bullying,
except that it takes place online or electronically, such as on social media platforms, via SMS and instant messaging apps or as e-mail.
Here are some tips to avoid being a victim:
- Avoid strangers on social media
- If you receive a friend request from someone you do not know, do not accept it
- Do not post personal information on social media
- Do not believe everything you read online
- Always verify the information before commenting or taking any action
- Review your security settings to be aware of who can see your information and posts
- Do not post anything you would not want the public to see
- Do not share anything that could hurt or embarrass yourself or anyone else
- Do not open emails or click on links from sources you do not know
- Do not download attachments from sources you do now know
