Loitering is an Offence

Dispatcher Files

A TrackBox AAA Response member called in to report a man who was loitering on the verge of her property. The local security company was then called to do a patrol and look out for this individual.

A short while afterwards the lady called back to say that the loiterer had jumped the fence and entered her property. The security company was updated and given permission to enter the property after which they located the individual and placed him under arrest for trespassing.

This incident illustrates how minor transgressions can escalate into more serious situations, and thanks to the alertness of this resident a more serious incident was averted.

Always be aware of who is around your property and should you suspect any suspicious individuals who have no reason to be there, ask your security company to do a patrol, call SAPS, or activate your AAA-Response app..
