I received a call from one of our AAA Response members recently who had just witnessed a very tragic accident in a very remote area, involving a bakkie and a truck, with both occupants of the bakkie being critically injured.

Unable to get in contact with the state ambulance service, I looked up the details of the nearest hospital instead. Eventually, I was able to plead my case and explain the urgent help needed to save lives, and thankfully an ambulance was dispatched.
