Stung by bees in a remote forest

Dispatcher Files

We recently received an activation from a Mondi staff benefits member reporting that an employee had been stung by bees in a remote forested area near Kwambonambi, Kwazulu Natal. We were able to establish the exact location of the employee after receiving information from others who were with her. We also gathered information about the condition of the employee who was very swollen and in a lot of pain.

NetCare 911 was swiftly dispatched and details of the symptoms and condition of the employee were relayed. NetCare 911 arrived on scene within a short period and the Advanced Life Support  team was able to stabilise the patient. They established that she experienced a severe allergic reaction due to the many bee stings and transported her to a nearby Hospital  for further treatment and observation.

After spending the night in the hospital she had been given the all clear and was discharged the following day.
