Gunshots coming from the Krantzkloof

I received a call from a local neighbourhood watch member reporting that they had heard gunshots coming from the Krantzkloof nature reserve which made him suspect that there were poachers in the area.

I contacted the EKZN honorary officers and called Hillcrest SAPS who dispatched a van to the area. We received feedback that the noises had been coming from some children who were letting off firecrackers.

The children were given a warning and asked to leave the reserve.

Please help the community as well as the protected nature reserves by educating your children on the safety and legislation around firecrackers and the responsibility of keeping our protected reserves safe.
