Poaching dogs Spotted

Today I received a call to say that poaching dogs have been spotted in a nature reserve. The handlers however were nowhere to be seen, either hiding or had ran away when hearing that the EKZN Honorary Officers were in the area.

Unfortunately for the Honorary officers, the visibility was not clear and it was difficult to see in the reserve in these conditions. Poachers are usually armed, so I called the SAPS to go out and assist. One poaching dog was caught but there was no sign that any poaching had begun yet.

At the end of the day we are here to save lives of not only humans but also endangered species by preventing poaching or illegal hunting activities.. As an animal lover myself it is sore subject to hear about poaching and to hear of the condition and nature of these dogs.

Sometimes obstacles and weather conditions get in the way of justice but at the end of the day all of us in the ERPC are here for the same reason, with a passion to save the day from whatever situation brought to our attention with the best possible outcome
